First Day Wearing Clothes! 4-2-16

Hudson is wearing his very first outfit! We are SO excited for this moment. Come to find out he can wear onesies with snaps that easily let his catheter hang out.
At one point in time, this momma had wept over not being able to put some of the adorable clothes that we or others had purchased for Hudson on him. The outfit he is wearing is actually the one we picked out for him to wear home from the hospital. I'm so thankful he gets to wear it!

Today, Hudson's dialysis has been increased from 45 mL/hour to 60 mL/hour. He's moving up! He is also doing really well with 15mL of breastmilk every 3 hours and the doctors have okayed him to nurse every 3 hours but little mister needs to work his way up to staying latched on longer than 1 minute before falling into a deep sleep. Still he is doing so good and we are so thankful for how far he has come. Upon arriving at the hospital, I got to snuggle and rock Hudson for about an hour.  It was so sweet just rocking and holding him as today was the first day I could hold him not on a pillow.  (Since his surgery we would both hold Hudson on top of the pillow he played on as we didn't want to bump his catheter.) Then later, I got to hold him again while trying to nurse him but he ended up falling asleep so I just held him skin to skin for about another hour. When he sleeps on me he is so peaceful. I just love studying his face with his little hand wrapped around my finger. He is SO little in my arms.  I also noticed how round his head looked today. I don't think I could see any swelling around his head at all!  Hudson has a great team of doctors and nurses here at Riley, but most of all he has an awesome prayer team and a marvelous God watching over him.

Isaiah 12:4-5
And you will say in that day:
“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the peoples, proclaim that his name is exalted.
“Sing praises to the Lord, for he has done gloriously; let this be made known in all the earth.
