Mid-November Riley Appointment

Such a busy day for our sweet boy. Today was our monthly renal appointment at Riley Children's Hospital and then in the evening he had a PT appointment in our home through First Steps.
Buddy was pretty worn out halfway through his PT appointment and just melted down from the day's events. He even had his 2nd flu shot today which just added to it all. BUT, for the 30 minutes he did work his butt off in therapy he actually stood on his legs for a WHOLE minute! We were cheering like crazy because he never puts weight on his legs more than a few seconds. And since he is doing very well at sitting we will be working lots on teaching him to catch himself or support himself when he starts to tip over.

We were a little anxious about blood work numbers today as the past few weeks Hudson's blood pressure has been so well that we were able to come off all blood pressure meds. So we were hopeful that maybe, just maybe, his kidneys might be started to work by regulating his BP. Unfortunately, that darn creatinine is still 3.0 (a healthy kidney function would be in the range of 0.2-0.6 mg/dL). So instead, the good news is we are off our blood pressure meds, dialysis is working great, Hudson looks healthy, and he grew 1 cm this past month. Even though he only gained 0.1lb the good news is he isn't loosing anything and he is hardly vomiting these days. But we do think he is going through a growth spurt and is hungrier these days so maybe he'll gain more weight if we up his feeds little by little. His team of doctors think he is doing great and we do too.
If you could continue to keep our Huddy Buddy in your prayers here are a few prayer points:
- that Hudson would continue to stay healthy (i.e. colds and flu stay far far away and he remains infection free)
- his kidneys would continue to heal
- he would continue to re-gain that core strength he needs to learn to roll, get in a crawling position, and sit
- he would gain weight
- he would continue to keep his food down
- For Jessica's milk supply to remain steady as she continues to pump for Hudson
Thank you so much for following Hudson's trials and triumphs, for praying for Hudson and our family, and all your words of encouragement. We truly appreciate it all!  <3 #TeamHudson
